Peter Kent Carlisle is a New York City-based antique dealer specializing in 18th- and 19th-century American and British furniture and decorative arts; including ceramics, paintings, engravings, and silver. When considering an object, Peter is especially drawn to authenticity, character, and historical narrative. A native New Englander, Peter’s passion for historic objects took root from his childhood, and was further developed after a decade in the UK as a student of history, and later in China as an educator. During the middle of the pandemic, Peter founded MOOAR, an antique shop à la Instagram before forming the eponymous Peter Kent Carlisle in 2025. In October 2025, Peter co-founded the Young Antique Dealers Association (YADA), with the goal of establishing an incubator and networking opportunity for the next generation of the antiques trade. During New York’s Antiques Week, YADA held its first annual show at the historic George F. Baker Jr. Mansion on East 93rd and Park Avenue. Peter is honored to be exhibiting for the first time at the 69th annual NHADA Show (Booth #5), from August 6–8th in Manchester, New Hampshire. Since his first introduction to the show in 2023, it has been a great source of inspiration, not only for the incredible array of objects on display, but for the willingness of exhibitors to engage with patrons and pass on their knowledge.
