On November 9, 2011, The New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association held its annual meeting at the New Hampshire Historical Society in Concord, NH. What a great stately building (celebrating its 100 anniversary this year) filled with treasures of New Hampshire History in which to hold our dinner meeting! During our socializing time attending members viewed and oohed and aahed over the various exhibits. (What a great house call I thought to myself!) Executive Director Bill Dunlap treated us to a talk and show of some of the many other items held in the Historical Society collection. Thanks again to Bill and his staff for a wonderful evening, and to Tidewater Catering of Manchester, NH for a delicious meal. But it was a business meeting, and business we did. After our financials and various committee reports were presented, the slate of Board of Directors was nominated and approved.

The Board of Directors thanks Peter Austin of Austin’s Antiques in Chichester, NH for his years of service as Treasurer of NHADA. Peter has served for “too many years to remember” and is taking his new–found time away from the board to work on his growing wine business — in addition to his antiques shop! Also at the meeting Nan Gurley announced the successful sign up of so many NHADA members for the upcoming “Spring In New Hampshire” Antiques Show at the Whittemore Center, on the campus of the University of New Hampshire, in Durham, NH. This show will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2012. This will be an all indoor show featuring over 70 dealers — all members of NHADA. Nan Gurley will be managing this show for NHADA. The UNH Campus is an easily accessible location from NH, ME, MA, and CT, 15 minutes or so from Portsmouth, NH. The set up for this show is only for NHADA members — and only a few spaces remain as of this writing. There has been a lot of buzz already about the quality of the dealers signed up! NHADA is pleased to welcome two new members: Helen Warren Spector, Houston, TX, and R.L. Myers, Valparaiso, IN.
