May 2012 News from NHADA

It is not too early to start planning your New Hampshire Antiques Week itinerary! Starting August 3, with Northeast Auctions Annual Summer Americana Auction and ending the week with The 55th Annual New Hampshire Antiques Show (Aug 9-11) there is plenty happening. A new website has been set up to focus on the week: www.antiquesweeknh.com and offers a show calender, detailed information about the shows, and lodging suggestions.

Fern Eldridge and Friends, Northwood, NH is pleased to announce the re-opening of their Wednesday Outdoor Market, starting Wednesday, May 23, 2012. This will be a twice monthly event (2nd and 4th Wednesday) through the season. Joining Fern in these special events are Eagle Antiques with an Outdoor Sale and in-shop discounts, Parker-French Antique Shows with its Wednesday shows, Keepers Antiques, and Austin’s Antiques with their special events. All this is on New Hampshire’s Antique Alley – Route 4. Contact any of these shops for more info.

On Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 10:00am-3:00pm The Hopkinton Historical Society will host their 2nd Annual Antiques Appraisal Day. Father and Son auction and appraisal team of Archie and Joshua Steenburgh will appraise items for $10.00 each (no jewelry, coins stamps, firearms or musical instruments please) to benefit the Society. Good quality photos may be substituted for large or fragile items. In addition to this event, there will be an Antiques Show featuring ten outstanding New Hampshire antique dealers. These events are open to the public and will be held at Hopkinton High School 297 Park Avenue, Contoocook, NH. For further info, contact the Society at 603-746-3825 or nhas@tds.net.

Please forward feedback and newsworthy items directly to me at NHADAPrez@aol.com. I will make every effort to pass on the latest in New Hampshire antiques happenings.

Until next month — happy antiques hunting!
