Early American Antiques

Steve Sherhag

My passion for history and antiques started at a young age. I was a shop manager at Neshannock Woods located in Western, Pennsylvania from 1998 – 2010. Neshannock Woods provided antique repair and restoration as while as building custom period furniture. These years provided the foundation of knowledge for early American furniture and antiques. I started going to small regional antique shows and buying pieces from Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

In 2010 I started my own business selling antiques and offering restoration and repair services. I would set up at small local shows on the weekend and worked on repairs and restoration during the week. As my antique inventory grew I branched out to larger shows throughout the region. Now, I set up at antique shows each month around the northeast. In 2013 I bought the Hudson Antique Show in Hudson, Ohio. The show was in its 43rd year and had been a long-standing show in Ohio. I now manage the  Zoar Antique Show, Okemo Antique Show, Black River Antique Show, and Antiques in Vermont.

My antique inventory focuses on folk art, Americana, stoneware, and unique early furniture. I collect pieces from my local area in Mahoning County, Ohio. I look forward to setting up at my first New Hampshire Antique Dealer Association Show this year.
