May 2017 NEWS FROM NHADA

Josh Steenburgh and Bev Weir-Longacre, co-chairmen of the NHADA Annual Show, are putting the final special touches on the 60th Diamond Anniversary Show, scheduled for August 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2017.  A reminder that a wine and cheese event for the public will be added this year on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and attendees, 30 years and under, are admitted to the show free on all three days!

For long time fans of the New London, New Hampshire, Garden Club Antiques Show, held on the green every summer for the past 50 years, please be aware there will be no show in 2017, but will return in 2018 under the management of Elizabeth and John DeSimone.

A new exhibition entitled “The Painted Past – Unseen Objects from the Strawberry Banke Collection” opened May 1 and runs through October 31, 2017, in the Rowland Gallery at Strawberry Banke.  The exhibition is included with regular admission to the museum, which is open 7 days a week, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, May through October.  Well worth a visit!

Also, the exhibition “Four Centuries of Furniture in Portsmouth” continues through Sunday, June 18 at Discover Portsmouth, a division of the Portsmouth Historical Society.  Still time to catch this great exhibit.

Lastly, I am happy to report that my shop, North Road Antiques, after a year of extensive renovation and reconstruction, will open to the trade on Wednesday, June 7, 9:00 to 5:00, and each first Wednesday of the month thereafter, through December, 2017.  I have come full circle and am fulfilling a desire to return to a permanent base for my business and I know of no better way than to combine home and business in one location!

And, as always, I welcome email from all members at lizk99@gmail.com, text & phone calls, 603-491-4225.  Send me your business news please!
